RUSSELL COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

General  Meeting

July 20, 2010

The Russell County Chamber of Commerce met at The Cove on July 20, 2010, at noon. 

President James Gray called the meeting to order.

Thirty one were in attendance.

MINUTES

A motion was made by Joy Fletcher seconded by Pam Eysenbach to accept the minutes as written for the June, 2010 meeting. The motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Sharon Hill presented the financial report for the month of May, 2010. There was a beginning balance of $26,556.51 and ending balance of $25,167.94.  The financial reports were accepted as read.

BUSINESS

1. Leadership Program – Brenda Pearson gave a financial report for the Leadership Program  A new account has been opened with $4,129.66; Check order/deposit slips for the new account is $67.22 with a new balance of $4.062.44.
2. The golf tournament will be scheduled in September.  James Gray asked that members volunteer to serve on a committee for the planning.  Presently we had planned to use the Links but will need to check for availability.
3. The 127 Yard Sale is scheduled for August 5-8 (Thursday thru Sunday).
4. LCADD will be hosting a building dedication/ribbon cutting on Thursday, July 22 at 3 p.m., followed by refreshments and tours of the building.
5. The Lake Cumberland Raft Up will be held on August 14.  To sign up, visit the website at http://www.lakecumberlandraftup.com .  The goal is to break the Guinness World records for longest boat tie-up.

SPEAKERS

Speakers were Bryon Sutherland, Vice-President of Public Affairs and Carlos Phillips, Vice-President of Membership/Marketing for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.  Kentucky Chamber members in Russell County are Branscum Construction, Flagship Marina, Rogers Aluminum, Russell County Chamber, and Superior Battery.
