RUSSELL COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

General  Meeting

June 15, 2010

The Russell County Chamber of Commerce met at The Jamestown Cafe on June 15, 2010, at noon. 

President James Gray called the meeting to order.

Twenty seven were in attendance.

MINUTES

A motion was made by Joy Fletcher seconded by Jacky Burton to accept the minutes as written for the May, 2010 meeting. The motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Sharon Hill presented the financial report for the month of May, 2010. There was a beginning balance of $32,184.62 and ending balance of $26,556.51.  The financial reports were accepted as read.

BUSINESS

1. Leadership Program – a meeting earlier in the day attended by Brenda Pearson, Teresa Bricker, James Gray, Joy Fletcher and Debbie Conner. Changes to the program include the Leadership program will be coordinated with the Chamber, New Fee for class will be $200 instead of $250, new class begins in August.  An email will be sent in the near future with information for signing up for class.
2. Lakefest donation was approved for $200.  Major Bates requested a donation for the July 3^rd event.  Joy Fletcher made a motion for approval, Don Cooper seconded the motion.
3. Members are still encouraged to use the website and make any comments or suggestions to Debbie.
4. Hospitality Training will be held on June 24, 2010, at the Jamestown Fun Center.  The training is free and open to all businesses.  More information is available on our website.  Currently have about 70 signed up for the two sessions.

SPEAKERS

Representatives from the  LCCAA were the guest speakers at the meeting.  Alisha Polston, Lisa Mann and Lauren Haynes gave information regarding programs available in their organization.

Don Cooper made a motion to adjourn; Pam Eysenbach seconded.  Motion carried.
