RUSSELL COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

General  Meeting

February 16, 2010
12:00 noon

The Russell County Chamber of Commerce Board Members met at The Cove on February 16, 2010, at noon. Forty-one were in attendance.

President James Gray called the meeting to order.

MINUTES

A motion was made by Joy Fletcher seconded by Tonya Meece to accept the minutes as written for the January, 2010 meeting. The motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Sharon Hill presented the financial report for the month of January, 2010. There was a beginning balance of $19,872.32 and ending balance of $29,818.11.  The financial reports were accepted as read.

BUSINESS

*Comments on website – need to add Blitz and Banquet information.  Anyone having any additions or changes should contact Debbie at the Chamber office.

*Monthly notices will only be mailed to ones not having email.  Need to contact the office if we don’t have email address.

*Minutes for each monthly meeting will be posted on the website.

*Business Expo has been scheduled for May 11.  Lisa Gosser, Tonya Meece, Brooke Bunch and Joy Fletcher are planning the event.

*Membership update – as of 2-16-10 – 122 paid members and $15,765 has been collected.  New Members:  Cooper Law Office, SCC, and 2Chef Catering.  Second notices will be sent in the next week.

*Banquet update – April 29; speaker still not definite.  This committee has met twice and will continue to complete plans.

*Blitz update – week of March 15; leaders are Kim Kelsey, Linda McFarland and Sharon McCubbin.

*Small Business and Entrepreneurial Forum will held on April 22 at the Natatorium; sponsored by Ky. Cabinet for Econ. Development.

 

SPEAKER

 

Mary Phelps-Hathaway was the speaker for February.  She gave an expressive talk about the Equestrian Games that will be at the Kentucky Horse Park from September 25 thru October 10, 2010. 

 

ADJOURN

 

Ronald Hopper made a motion to adjourn meeting; Steve Branscum seconded the motion.  The meeting was adjourned.
